Visiting the Bruce Peninsula while you’re in Ontario, Canada is a must. The Bruce Peninsula lies between Georgian Bay and the main basin of Lake Huron. The peninsula extends roughly northwestwards from the rest of Southwestern Ontario, pointing towards Manitoulin Island.

In this post, I’ll share my 4 day trip to Bruce Peninsula itinerary with you! FYI, all the pictures & videos below were taken by me. While it is only a 4 day trip, all the spots are in close proximity to one another, which means you still have plenty of time to explore each one 🙂

This itinerary was for the 3 of us – my sister, our friend Tijana, and me. It was so relaxing, and I really didn’t want to go home at the end of it!

Day 1

Headed from Kitchener, to Tobermory! We started the trip by eating Lol! We found a nice spot on the outdoor patio at Crowsnest Pub & Restaurant which has a nice view of Little Tub Harbour.

Once we finished up our lunch, we went to Bruce Peninsula National Park. We wanted to checkout the Grotto shoreline cave  but it wasn’t available for some reason. Instead, we went for a hike, to look at the bay from the top! And then went down, right up to this incredibly beautiful water.

It was amazing. But.. we had to leave the park sometime 🙁 .. so we headed to our first airbnb spot!

We stayed at Rhythmwood Bed and Breakfast, in Lion’s Head. And it literally couldn’t have been any more perfect than it was during our stay. Rick and Wendy, the hosts, were so welcoming and warm.

The breakfast Rick made for us was ah-mazing and the space was very tranquil. Outside my bedroom window I would just see trees, and hear the birds chirping. So calming ❤

Once we got settled in, we went to a nearby beach to watch the sunset (1st picture on the left). I’m never going to forget that sunset, and the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks..

Ah, yup, I can hear it now… Whooosssh shwooshhh. Oh… that’s just the video I’ve uploaded below:

Day 2

We had our lovely breakfast in the morning, and then headed back to Tobermory. We wanted to find a glass bottom boat to take us to Flowerpot island, Blue Heron Cruises is the company we went with (Bruce Anchor Cruises is also available if you want to check out their tours).

There is a boat tour guide that tells you when you’re about to pass a shipwreck, so that you can look over or go down to the glass bottom of the boat. Pretty neat stuff 🙂

We chose the drop off tour so that we could explore the island and then be picked up later. You can also go camping on the island, and this is definitely something I would want to do next time I go!

As the day was wrapping up, and the sun was getting lower, we waited for our boat to arrive and take us back to Tobermory. I took the below picture just before we left – what a perfect way to end the adventure.

We made our way back to our Airbnb in Lion’s Head.

Day 3

In the morning, we had our breakfast and packed up to head towards Southampton. We went to the lovely beach for a few hours, and walked into the downtown area to grab some iced coffees.

Then we headed to Owen Sound to check into our next Airbnb.

We stayed at Virginia’s ‘Country in the City’. The unit was in the basement, which was nice for those hot August nights. The place was really clean, and the bathroom had such a unique and neat design (you’ll see what I mean if you checkout the Airbnb pictures, or if you stay there)!

Virginia gave us tips on music events going on in the area, and some restaurants we might want to check out. The downtown area was fairly close which was really nice, about 30 minutes walking.

That night, we went to Jazzmyn’s to have a couple drinks, and listen to live music! I loved the vibe of this place, and the people who were there. We were surrounded by grape vines on their outdoor patio. We ate our tasty meals that were clearly made with love, and listened to some local artists play music. We took a cab back to our Airbnb, and got some rest.

Day 4

In the morning, we made some coffee, packed up our things and headed out! We stopped at European Bakery Cafe for some breakfast. The food was really good and it definitely had a Euro vibe to it!

We did want to explore another area but it was rainy, and we were all tuckered out from hiking and being in the sun. We all went home a little more relaxed, and with some memories.
